17. The Truth and Nothing But -- In addition to the name change to "Oswald State Correctional Facility," more changes abound. Newbies Coyle, Kahn, and Ricardo arrive and partner up with Wangler, Said, and Hernandez respectively. Adebisi's
"recovery" prompts a return. Clayton Hughes, son of a past Oz guard who came through the ranks with Glynn, asks Glynn to hire him. Meanwhile new hack Officer Howell, gets friendly with McManus. A managed health care company takes over Oz' s infirmary, to
Dr. Nathan's disgust and Miguel's detriment. Cyril O'Reily still has nightmares about being raped by Schillinger, and Ryan schemes on revenge; Officer Metzger nearly chokes Busmalis to death and pushes him down the stairs in revenge for Mark Mack's death,
but neither Busmalis nor Beecher will testify against him; Said develops an unlikely alliance as he starts a hunger fast in response to McManus rejecting his request for food in his cell during his holy season. Keller confesses his part in setting up
Beecher and is immediately taken into protective custody. Beecher gets some oh-so-sweet revenge.
18. Napoleon's Boney Parts -- The hack ain't comin' back, and everyone's tryin' to figure out who did the deed; especially Schillinger and Said (wonder what his angle is?). New hack, and McManus' friend, Sean Murphy arrives. Despite Glynn's
reservations, an inmate boxing program is coming to Oz and inmates are psyched for the competition. While closely shaving Hill, Coyle gives the gruesome details of his crime, which include the death of an infant and the discovery of indisputable evidence
to his claim. Disgusted, Hill decides Coyle should pay. Adebisi gets the OK to work in the AIDS ward. While Howell and Wittelsey converse about McManus, he appears with bad news for Wittelsey: her mother has died; a jealous and psychotic Howell shows her
true colors. Meanwhile, Schillinger's son Andrew has been arrested, again. Keller, stir-crazy from being in protective custody, goes back to Em City with painful results. Rebadow goes into insulin shock and is diagnosed with diabetes. Dr. Garvey fires Dr.
Nathan. Miguel begins deteriorating now that his medication has been eliminated.
19. Legs -- With a new day breaking, Officer Howell makes a gruesome discovery. Dr. Nathan takes action against medical official Dr. Garvey and keeps her job when Dr. Garvey is found to be involved in a scandal. Ricardo and Hughes have a brief
confrontation that results in a reprimand. Said's attorney brings good news and a special delivery. Richie Hanlon explains to Shirley Bellinger why he's on death row. New prisoner Stanislofsky joins the fold. Boxers Robson and Cyril meet up in the boxing
ring, and Ryan pulls some strings to make sure Cyril wins the match; Rebadow's family visits; Said continues on his hunger strike; Schillinger's son is imprisoned; Beecher plots even as regretful Keller apologizes. Hill returns from testifying against
Coyle, and the jury's still out as to whether or not that was the smartest move. Said solicits assistance from Nappa, Schillinger and Guerra. Nappa turns over control to Pancamo after he tests positive for HIV and is moved to Unit E (AIDS isolation
ward).
20. Unnatural Disasters -- Andy Schillinger arrives to Oz and Vern tries to get Warden Glynn to move Andy in with him. Howell sues McManus for sexual harassment in order to get her job back; Richie Hanlon returns to Em City and Stanislofsky makes a
move; Sister Peter Marie begins a victim-offender interaction program; Said has a conflict of faith over Tricia Ross. Miguel gets a directive from Hernandez. Said gets old wounds opened when his sister visits. Ryan scores another victory. Officer Hughes
makes a "stunning" move on an inmate and Richie Hanlon's death sentence is overturned.
21. U.S. Male -- After getting pummeled by Khan in a boxing match, Kenny discovers his wife's infidelity and arranges a contract. Miguel prepares to meet his victim face to face. McManus' lawsuit starts taking it's toll as he wrestles with settling
or going to court. New inmate Kosygin is mysterious at best and Stanislofsky keeps a safe distance. Busmalis gets a surprise in the mail: an autographed picture of Miss Sally (with Nooter and Pecky). Said's relationship with Tricia Ross begins to affect
his standing with Arif and Khan. Hughes presses Glynn for more information about past deeds. Beecher and Andrew form an alliance that angers Schillinger and Poet and Pierce get a hot reception.
22. Cruel and Unusual Punishments -- When Cudney threatens to spill the truth about Cyril's "wins," Ryan solicits Kosygin for help. He then schemes to have Kosygin and Stanislofsky eliminated and finally, tips off the hacks to get Hernandez,
Guerra, and Ricardo busted. Busmalis gets a welcome visitor. Sister Pete's questions keep rising after sessions with Keller; Nappa continues working on his new project, and he gets a new roommate; The attempt at peace between Alvarez and Rivera may come
undone. Khan stages a mutiny and Said is cast out; After Beecher asks Said for lessons in the Islamic faith, Said and Beecher become pod mates.
23. Secret Identities -- Sister Pete's anger is roused and forces her to confession when she realizes that Keller is manipulating her. Alvarez finally meets with Eugene and Tina Rivera. Wittlesey throws Hughes a surprise party, and Father Ray
confronts Glynn about Hughes' father. Wangler and Adebisi register a complaint to the Warden about McManus. Nappa finishes his memoires, then meets with demise. Bellinger enlists McManus' help in choosing her means of execution. Glynn and Hughes have an
important conversation. Adebisi begins sowing seeds of discontent and a fight erupts in the gym resulting in a lockdown.
24. Out of Time -- When his plea for an expedited return to solitary goes on deaf ears, Miguel takes matters into his own hands and Glynn finds out who raped his daughter. The boxing finals match ends in tragedy with Khan left irreversibly brain
dead. Keller returns to Beecher's pod; Bellinger's sentence is commuted to life without parole. Wittlesey and Howell duke it out, then McManus has words with Glynn. Pierce and Poet return to Gen Pop. Hill gets sent to the hole. Glynn fires Hughes, but not
before Clayton leaves a holiday gift for Adebisi.

User Comment: Susanna, Europe • Finally, season 3 of OZ has been released. This is by far the most fantastic tv show ever made. It's the best thing ever made.
If you're reading this, you've probably watched all seasons of OZ, or at least a few of them so I won't have to tell what it's all about. All I can say is, I'm in love with OZ. Tom Fontana is a genious, what he has created is magical, the characters are
so alive and realistic, you feel for them, you start to love them no matter what crimes they've committed, you understand why they do what they do, you realize that everything they say and do is a part of survival, they have to survive in Em City, in OZ,
no matter what it takes...
O'Reily, responsible for pretty much every murder in OZ, including the riot, Beecher, the extreme transformation, rivality with Schillinger and love for Chris Keller, Said, always keeping his faith, at least in this season, Hill, Rebadow, Schillinger,
Adebisi, Pancamo..... I could go on and on.
My favorite characters of the inmates are Toby Beecher, Chris Keller - I find their love/hate relationship interesting. You don't have to put a label on it saying "Beecher and Keller are the two gay guys", it's far beyond that. As Tom Fontana said: "It's
two men or two people struggling to find and maintain love in an environment that completely works against them." There are sad moments, good moments, Schillinger who constantly tries to get between them and destroy Beecher. And no matter what happens in
Toby's and Chris's relationship, even if they're not together at the time, you know that they love each other, more than they'll ever love anybody. Tobias "Toby" Beecher goes through the most extreme transformation I've ever laid my eyes on, it's amazing
to watch him, from the beginning of his time in OZ until he finally makes his revenge on Schillinger in season 1, lands in the hole and comes out as a new man. Chris Keller who first came to OZ as one of Schillinger's men, making friends with Toby, making
Toby fall in love with him, then broke his bones and totally ruined everything they had togehter. And when Toby lands in the hospital, you see Chris back in their pod, his hands on Toby's bunk, touching Toby's pillow with a remorsefull look on his face -
a 5 second sequence that makes me chill, no words can describe that scene. In season 3 we follow his attempts to make Toby understand that he really does love him. The chemistry between the actors, Lee Tergesen and Christopher Meloni, is brilliant,
sparkling and convincing. And perhaps since they're good friends in reality, they know how to work so well together.
My other favorite is Ryan O'Reilly, the man nobody can trust. Always up to something and usually gets what he wants, O'Reilly is one of a kind. Played by Dean Winters, who I think is a very talented actor. The way I feel when I watch Winters is, he
doesn't seem to be acting at all, and I mean that in a good way. He's tough, he's smart, he doesn't trust anyone, he is responsible for many of the murders commited in Em City, and since he's got a great brain he manages to stay out of trouble during the
investigations. Also, there's not only a cold hearted side of O'Reilly. He backs up the weaker inmates, he stood by Beecher's side when he just got to Em City, and even though he made Beecher addicted to heroin, he was there when no one else was. And
there's always Ryan's love for his brother Cyril, who he'd do anything for.
For the OZ fans that yet don't know - Season 4 will be out in October 2004.
